An independent SEAI ( Sustainable energy Authority of Ireland) technical assessor will visit your house and determine the current energy rating of your home as part of the home energy assessment report. This Technical assessor will be appointed by the competition organisers.
Sustainable energy Authority of Ireland, they are the government agency that oversee energy awareness within the country, they oversee and audit the energy retrofits that take place throughout the country..
No house is the same so a result an Home Energy assessment report will be issued by the SEAI independent technical assessor for the lucky winner. This is the first step of the project. The home energy assessment will take into consideration the following criteria:
- The age of the house
- The level of insulation in the external walls and attics.
- Will review the quality of the windows and doors and assessment on the draughts and thermal qualities of the window and door units will be made
- Will review the current ventaltion in the house
- Will review the current heating system in the house and its efficiency
- Will review the current radiators and heating pipework.
- Will review the current lighting in the house
- An air Tightness test will be carried out on the house by NSAI Registered assessor, this will highlight all current draughts that are in the house.
This home energy assessment will outline the mandatory measures required to get your home to an A3 energy efficient home and to meet the minimum heat loss index requirements as outlined by SEAI for your house. The mandatory works outlined in this report will be carried out free of charge to the lucky winner. Additional recommended measures ( Not mandatory Measures) will also be highlighted to the homeowner and these works can be carried out by the homeowner if desired during the project or at a later stage.
Depending on the home energy assessment report, works will include all or some of the following measures:
- installation of an air to water heat pump & hot water cylinder,
- Time and temperature heating controls
- Triple Glazed windows ( U Value less than 1.0 W/m2k)
- Energy Efficiency front and rear doors ( U Value less than 1.4 W/m2k)
- Cavity Wall insulation
- Attic insulation
- Air Tightness Measures
- External Wall Insulation / Internal Drylining
- Demand Control Ventilation system
- Solar PV Panels
All proceeds go to Thurles Gaels GAA and will be used in developing a new pitch, upgrading the clubhouse and installing floodlights on the newly constructed Astroturf pitch to support our expanding Juvenile Club and the wider Thurles community.
The draw will take place on Saturday 27th April, 2024 @ 8pm. There will also be bonus draws throughout the campaign. The earlier you enter the more bonus draws you will be entered in. All winners will be publicised on our website and social media channels.
An independent adjudicator will oversee and draw the winning entry. The winner will be notified within 21 days of the draw taking place. The winner does not have to be present for the draw.
Online via our secure payment website www.winaretrofit.ie or via a Thurles Gaels Committee Member. You will receive an email ticket which will include your ticket number. Please check your spam mail folder if you do not receive it.
Yes, the retrofit is available to people outside of Ireland, however the property that they intend to retrofit must be located within the 26 Counties of the Republic of Ireland. The Eircode of the property that you intend retrofitting must be imputed when purchasing the ticket. If not entered, you will be automatically entered for the €50,000 cash prize. The lucky winner cannot submit the Eircode after the raffle is completed. Please see terms and conditions.
This fundraising campaign is limited to 15,000 tickets.
Yes, you can register the ticket in the name of another person. However, you must state the Eircode of the building that you intend to get retrofitted, the person named must be a resident/owner of the Eircode property and must comply with the terms and conditions of the raffle. if you do not intend to get a building retrofitted, you can leave the Eircode slot empty and you will be immediately entered for the €50,000 alternative cash prize
