What is a Retrofit?

We’re hosting a draw where you could win a retrofit worth up to €100,000!

A Comprehensive Home Retrofit involves implementing numerous energy improvements concurrently with the goal of achieving an A-rating Building Energy Rating (BER).

Enhancing your home’s insulation leads to cost savings. Various insulation options are available, each tailored to deliver specific qualities that enhance your home’s warmth and energy efficiency.

To begin, it is essential to reduce heat loss to prolong the retention of warmth within your home. This involves one or more of the following measures: wall insulation, roof insulation, floor insulation, upgrading of windows/doors and airtightness.

The advantages of retrofitting extend beyond energy efficiency, encompassing improved warmth, enhanced comfort, and the promotion of healthy airflow throughout the house. Moreover, mechanical ventilation is integrated to ensure optimal indoor air quality.

To facilitate the transition away from fossil fuels, once the fabric elements are improved a renewable heating system can be installed. A common heating system employed in a retrofit project is an air-to-water heat pump.
